Halifax Wedding Photography Valentine’s Day special

I few times a year I like to offer some great deals. I usually do this with portrait photography but I thought “hey why not do something nice for Valentine’s day!”.  The day of love and couples is the perfect time to give everyone a little break on wedding photography. More and more couples love the idea of the photo booth as it’s a great way for them to create a digital guest book and for their guests to have fun! So you will get one for free when you book the $1799 or $2199 package. Not sure you like the idea of the photo booth? Then take a straight 10% right off the $1799 package or the $2199 package. You just want to go with the digital only package and are now feeling left out…..well then you can get a free classic coffee table album with the $1499 digital only package. How does that sound? I hope this special makes the grey days of winter a little brighter! This offer expires at the end of Feb but will apply to any 2012 or 2013 bookings.

Bunnies and Cats oh my! – halifax pet photographer

Holy pet hair Batman! What do you get when you photograph two bunnies and two cats at once?? Yes, fun photos but a whole lot of pet hair too!  It was worth it of course and I learned that bunnies can pose. Mr. Cadbury in the first set of photos really knew how to work the camera! I said to his mom that she wouldn’t need to pay me for the photos if she gave me Cadbury – she scowled and declined. No one ever takes me up on that offer…hmmm not sure why.:)  Anyhoo,  his sister insisted on having her photos taken on the pink couch and the crazy cats did whatever they wanted. Such is the way with the feline! I hope you enjoy the photos!

Luke and Ben – Halifax Child Photographer

Luke and Ben love to catch frogs. I loved to catch frogs at their age so we bonded over the best way to catch them. I warned if you squeeze them too hard they will pee all over you. Luke was quite intrigued by this and I could tell he was filing away my advice for further consideration.  Sometimes getting good photos of little kids is like catching frogs: you need to be fast and patient. And never squeeze babies because they will  pee all over you!:)

On our hike in the woods we came across a little stream and bridge. I knew if I wanted to get any photos that didn’t involve them running I would need to get creative. Children love to climb so I pointed out the wooden bridge railing. Luke jumped right up and had a blast. Of course little brothers like to do whatever big brother does and Ben proceeded to have his turn on the railing. I was able to catch each brother in a split second of deep though. Although, I’m sure they were really just thinking “lady take the photo so I can go catch frogs!” When it was time to photograph them together they engaged in a little game of who’s taller. In the last photo you can see that Ben is standing as tall as he can so big brother doesn’t look well – much bigger. Everything is so fresh and new to children and that’s one of the reasons I enjoy them so much. Oh, and I get to pass along all my hard earned frog catching tricks!

Dogtober Fest for East Coast German Shepherd Rescue

Dogs food and fun! What more could a girl want? Well I would love for some of the wonderful dogs at the East Coast German Shepherd Rescue to find their “fur”ever homes! Thanks to Kathleen Duffey and her staff at  Tailwagerrrs K9m wellness center some of those adoptable dogs were able to meet and greet potential families. Dogtober fest included speakers from Full Circle Vet, Nova Scotia Lost Dog Network, and True North Agility. DJ Frankie Hollywood was on hand to rock the “PAWTY” and of course  lots of doggies int heir HOWL-o-ween costumes. It’s my blog so I can and will pun if I want to!  Here are some highlights from Dogtober Fest 2011!

Andy, the lovely pooch looked handsome in his witch costume. Ok, he looks a bit embarrassed and I heard he really wanted to be Harry Potter!

Marley eating doggie ice cream!! Oh my another lovely adoptable having a good time!

Duke! What a guy I totally fell in love. He is quite the devil!

Mika needed a little help putting on her costume! She is indeed a princess!
